About:
I’ve never been able to pick favorites. Favorite band, movie, snacks? What?! I like all snacks! Why must I choose!?! I am an improviser, an actor, a writer- but I finally realized it’s all based in telling stories.
Now in Los Angeles, I am a comedic performer and writer. BBQ Committee is my video sketch comedy group. Teen Police is the improv team I perform with every Friday at iO West. Sad Hot Guys is my tumblr and future coffee table book.
While studying writing and communication at Denison University, I loved working for our radio station. Four years on the air and behind the scenes at WDUB 91.1FM got me started in voiceover. After graduation, I moved to Chicago to study improv and sketch comedy. Actually, the commute for my first iO class was 6 hours from Litchfield, OH! The next week, I packed up my car and made the move for good. While in Chicago, I performed at the iO Theater, ComedySportz, Donny’s Skybox at The Second City, Laugh Out Loud, and The Playground Theater.
When I was at Denison, I remember a guest alumni speaker saying, “What I learned here was how to learn.” That phrase has stuck with me, though I do wish I could remember who said it. I’ve studied with UCB, The Groundlings, The Second City Conservatory, The Second City Music Improv Program, the Improv and Writing Programs at the iO Theater, Kalmenson & Kalmenson, Radio Ranch, Terry Berland, Killian's Commercial Workshop, and the Acting Studio Chicago.
Don’t worry, I’m not always in class. I mean, a girl needs to have some fun; #AmIRiteCyndiLauper? My hobbies include listening to KDAY, Feng Shui’ing my apartment, and reading trashy celebrity autobiographies.
