![]() I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you are a creative person and you have a fantastic imagination. The bad news is that because of this, you will often feel unsatisfied, behind, not where you want to be, and not productive 'enough.' If you're always imagining what you could make and how great things could be then of course this will happen. It has been happening since, like, FOREVER: According to www.m-w.com, the first known use of "satisfying" was during the 15th century. Humans only needed a few years to come up with a word for everyone who was not feeling satisfied. The first known use of "dissatisfied" was around 1630. Because misery loves company, the first known use of "unsatisfactory" was around 1650.
Think with me for a moment about this. This feeling has plagued human kind for hundreds of years?!?!? This woman is so unhappy with her musical abilities she's about to stab that poor little doggy. I think we have suffered enough! How do we turn this around? Examine why you are feeling unsatisfied. Find the gap between what you want and what you have now. Plan how you will get to the new destination. Accept where you are now as a step on that path. Keep moving forward. Accept that you will always be inspired to more greatness, so being unsatisfied is a gift that keeps you working toward your next best project. Are you looking for more accountability and a clear plan to more forward? Apply for creative coaching here. What would you love to create? xo Chrissy
