![]() If you're a women who has come into contact with a magazine or the internet, then you probably have been encouraged to de-clutter something: "De-Clutter Your Bathroom!" "De-Clutter Your Junk Drawer!!" "De-Clutter Your Closet!!!" ACK! Well... this also applies to your bank of ideas. My client was having trouble figuring out what she wanted to write about. Each idea had pros, cons, different personal and professional motivations. What she thought she 'should' do next, but didn't really want to do. And then she said: "I have had an idea for a very long time that I've talked myself out of repeatedly." Oh boy, those are the ideas that haunt us. But I think they stick around for a reason. Do you have some ideas that just won't go away? Do this exercise to figure out Now, Later, or Never for each idea. Make a list of all your current ideas, and evaluate each one.
Why do you think it keeps coming back into your mind? What has been keeping you from exploring it? Get it out of your brain and onto paper and see what format it starts to take. And then... Decide when you will finish it. Or, decide to let it go. If you truly give your idea the consideration it deserves, you will be able to decide: Now, Later, or Never. Or maybe, like de-cluttering your closet, you will think of a friend who should have that idea. Is your idea waiting around for the right collaboration? Tell me below in the comments- did you de-clutter your idea closet? Are you looking for more accountability and a clear plan to more forward? Apply for creative coaching here. What would you love to create? xo Chrissy
