I know it’s annoying, but YOU have to be the first person who believes in you. UGH it is annoying. It is soooo annoying. But you have to. Because it all starts with you. No matter how many people are in your corner- agents, managers, best friends that think you are amazing- You still have to do the work. So what does that mean? YOU have to believe in your idea enough to start.
YOU have to sketch that necklace design you can’t stop thinking about. YOU have to believe that you can do one little thing today to work on your project. YOU have to sign up for a class you know will help you reach the next level. YOU have to reach out to people who can help you produce your short film. YOU have to enter your spec in that TV writing contest. YOU have to believe that you can change your creative habits and get where you want to be. YOU have to ….. (you know you’re filling in the blank with something you’ve been wanting to do!) Trust yourself and your abilities. When you believe in you, the people you encounter will feel your commitment and energy. They will give what you need to move forward. I know… it’s annoying. I would also prefer to start every day with someone who is not me telling me how amazingly talented I am. But give it a shot. Decide on something you can do today that will show yourself you believe in you. It could be as simple as writing down all the ideas you have right now. Say “I am going to write for 10 minutes” – and then actually write for 10 minutes. Decide on something you can do every morning that will show yourself you believe in you. Let me know in the comments- What did you do today? What is your new morning habit? Are you looking for more accountability and a clear plan to more forward? Apply for creative coaching here. What would you love to have finished 4 weeks from today? xo Chrissy
